Several days after getting Emerging Markets’ “Best Finance Minister of South Asia, 2016” award, finance minister Ishaq Dar has decided to awail the special bulk discount deal provided by aforementioned institution and has acquired a “Sexiest Man Alive” award as well.
“It just made more financial sense,” said Laeeq Ahmed, joint secretary, finance division. “We’d already paid up for the other one and the Sexiest Man Alive award was available for half of its original price if we got it as a second prize.”
“Yes, Mr Dar made the right decision,” said Leslie Roberts, director communications, typist and coffee maker at Emerging Markets. “Though it was the right deal for him; what could be right for him may not be right for others. To that end, we have other deals as well. A very popular one is a combo deal where, for a pretty reasonable price, you get the best finance minister award, some fries and a Coke.”
“Thank you all,” said the finance minister, when contacted for the story. “By the grace of God, if my plans go well, pretty soon, respected journal Screen Scoop might run a story that your humble servant is being considered for Daniel Craig’s replacement as the new James Bond. Fingers crossed.”
