Pakistan has been declared the best country for infrastructure development in South Asia by the Emerging Markets.

Emerging Markets is a research and publishing institute of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank.

The award was given due to successful investment in energy and transport projects.

Pakistan received the distinction in recognition of the government’s best planning in various mega projects, including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Lahore-Karachi railway, LNG pipeline and energy projects.

Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal was invited to receive the award in Washington but due to his unavailability, Pakistan’s Ambassador in the US Jalil Abbas Jilani received the award in a ceremony held in Washington on Saturday night.

  1. Why have such irrelevant newsitems suddenly started making rounds? Please do mention how these infrastructures appeared and were any legal methods followed in inviting bids or tenders and who benefited financially?

  2. If this is true, then hearty congratulations. Most Indians think Pakistan only focuses on Kashmir and religion. Therefore, what a refreshing change this news is! Why cannot Pakistan focus only on activities that move the country forward?

    • Same goes for india. Both countries need to further development. India is financing a sealed border which is quite unnecessary.

  3. Awesome news. Keep going Pakistan. Despite India's attempts to destroy the country, Pakistan still stands strong
