The former captain Shahid Khan Afridi apologised Javed Miandad for hurtful remarks calling the latter was ‘always after money.’
However, the legendary cricketer Javed Miandad has accepted the apology on Tuesday (today).
“Shahid Afridi is my junior and I forgive him,” said Miandad.
“Afridi’s comment did hurt me deeply but being the senior of the two I decided to forgive him,” he added.
Miandad said that he has mentored Afridi for years and wishes him all the best.
Afridi and veteran player Javed Miandad were involved in an ugly war of words on Sunday when Afridi, during talks with the media, said that Miandad has always spoken about money. Miandad reacted by accusing Afridi of match fixing.
“Money has always been an issue with Miandad. That is the difference between him and Imran Khan,” said Afridi during the book launch of a newspaper’s sports editor.
