A biopic on my life would be a disaster: Amitabh Bachchan

As biopics are in vogue in the Bollywood, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who turned 74 on Tuesday, says a film made on his life will be “definitely a flop”.

Amitabh believes a film on him will be definitely a disaster.

“I would not like a film to be made on me and neither I can say which actor should do it,” Big B said in a media interaction earlier.

Amitabh Bachchan is not known Shahenshah of Bollywood for nothing. He is 74 now and even at this age he is doing films with author-backed roles written especially for him. His latest release Pink is the best example of that.

In the 70s, Amitabh Bachchan was one of the most sought after actors, as he was in his prime then. His image of angry young man was loved by one and all. Then in the late 80s his career started eeing a downward curve and when people thought that the actor was finished in the 90s he proved everyone wrong. There’s no denying that Big B tried to make a few comebacks but all in vain and then he started his production house ABCL, which failed and he went bankrupt. It was Mohabbatein that brought him back to the mainstream and Baghban further solidified his position as a lead actor at the box office. Since then he has been churning hit almost every year and it’s not just about multi-starters he has given hit films where he had author-backed roles, be it Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Paa, Piku, Black, Bhoothnath and Cheeni Kum etc.

Now Pink has worked wonders at the box office and is still earning well despite the release of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. The large part of its success is credited to the incredible performance of Amitabh Bachchan. Even at 74 he has given superhits at the box office.
