The ban on the broadcast of Altaf Hussain’s speeches is patently unfair. First, it is wrong in principle. If there is some other issue regarding the MQM, it should be investigated; what does that have to do with his addresses?
But, more than the principle involved, those against the MQM should also remember that the ban removed, in one fell swoop, the greatest bit of propaganda instrument against the leader-in-self-exile: his own speeches.
