As Bollywood is divided into two camps over ban on Pakistani actors, super star Salman Khan is being attacked by Hindu extremists for taking stand in favour of Pakistan artistes.
Supporters of BJP MLA Sangeet Som burnt an effigy of actor Salman Khan at Khatoli town, Uttar Pradesh, for opposing the ban on Pakistani artistes in India.
According the Indian media, the workers of Sangeet Som Sena staged a demonstration in the town and threatened to boycott the Bollywood superstar’s movies.
At the launch of Being Human Jewels, when asked about his opinion on the ban imposed on Pakistani artists, Salman had said artistes from Pakistan should not be treated like terrorists and art and terrorism should not be mixed.
The superstar had further stated that those actors are just artists who come to India with a valid visa and work permit which have been provided to them by our government.
The superstar faced a lot of flak and backlash from various quarters apart from his effigy being burnt in Uttar Pradesh.
