The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has completed its inquiry into unlawful allotment of land to Bahria Town Karachi and submitted its report to the Sindh High Court.
According to the report, Bahria Town Karachi collected billions of rupees from people before purchasing the land.
Bahria Town did not own even a single acre of land at the time of the project’s formal launch, it said.
The NAB report stated that Bahria Town charged Rs15, 000 from each applicant through deception.
Bahria Town then illegally acquired 9100 acres of land in collusion with Malir Development Authority (MDA) and Revenue officials. Bahria Town has possession of 12, 156 acres of land, according to the report.
The court has summoned NAB’s investigation officer on October 21 with all relevant documents.
