In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have imposed curfew and restrictions in Srinagar and other towns to prevent a march towards the UN office at Sonawar on Friday.
Call for the march has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, and Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, to hand over a memorandum to the UN office regarding India’s recent attempts of creating war-like situation on the Line of Control to divert world attention from brutalities of its forces in the occupied territory.
The authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in Srinagar to thwart people from conducting the march while all roads leading to the UN office have been sealed.
On the other hand, Indian army personnel in Baramulla town fitted three anti-aircraft guns and deployed a tank in the premises of Baramulla district hospital, causing panic and fear among the patients and doctors. The hospital employees, patients and their attendants were frightened thinking as if the war had started.
Besides this, police have booked the illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and party leader, Fehmeeda Sofi, under the black law, Public Safety Act (PSA).
Aasiya Andrabi was shifted to Baramulla sub-jail during the night to subject her to mental trauma, reported Kashmir Media Service.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown continues on the 91st consecutive day, today, on the call of Hurriyet leadership against the civilian killings by Indian forces in the Kashmir Valley during the last three months.
More than 100 people have died and thousands injured due to Indian atrocities in the strife-torn valley.
