Hurriyet leader extend strike call against Indian atrocities till October 13

A complete shutdown is being observed in all districts of the occupied Kashmir Valley on the 90th consecutive day, Thursday.

All the educational institutions, petrol pumps, business and other establishments remained closed, while traffic was off the road.

Many people were injured after Indian police used brute force and fired pellets on anti-India protest rallies in Shopian, Kupwara, Bandipora, Badgam and Islamabad districts.

Hurriyet leaders have extended the strike call against Indian atrocities till October 13.

On the other hand, the puppet authorities killed two youth in a fake encounter with Indian forces at Langate in Handwara area of Kupwara district.

Both were killed near Indian Army’s 30-Rashtriya Rifles camp in Langate. Indian media has accused the men of attacking army base camp.

Occupied Kashmir is under siege and violence since July 8, 2016, after the extra-judicial murder of the top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, by Indian troops.

More than 100 people have died and thousands injured by Indian troops in held Kashmir.

India and Pakistan have fought three wars since they gained independence from Britain seven decades ago, two of them over Kashmir. Both claim the region in full.

A number of freedom fighting groups in the India-held part of the picturesque territory have for decades been fighting to break free from New Delhi.
