Staying true to his promise to fans, Hollywood star Hugh Jackman shared the first official poster of the third and final film in Wolverine series late Wednesday.

The poster also reveals the name of Wolverine 3 movie – Logan.

Earlier, talking about the movie, the 47-year-old actor had said revealed that the filming has wrapped and director Jim Mangold is busy editing the movie. “We’ve finished shooting. I just saw Jim Mangold today. He’s editing away and finishing that,” Jackman told Entertainment Tonight.

“There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so. That’s all I’ll say. I’m not good. I’m the kind of person who tells everybody everything. Basically, it’s going to be very different. Very different in tone and hopefully different to anything we’ve done,” he added.

According to a report in The Wrap, Logan takes place in the year 2024 and the film is darker than any other Wolverine or X-Men movie.

According to the report, the Wolverine hero drives a 2024 Chrysler 300 limo that has been modified to look more futuristic. It added that the hand in the poster is that of a young girl, a mutant. Logan mentors the girl, who has two claws instead of his three, the report said.

However, Ryan Reynolds tweeted the poster saying Wolverine holds his hand.

Written by Green Lantern scribe Michael Green, the final Wolverine solo film will reportedly be based on Old Man Logan comic book series. It will be set in the future, where super villains have taken control over the world.

Director James Mangold shared a closer look at the poster on his Twitter page along with a snap of part of the screenplay! Logan drinks a lot, is sick and he heals slowly. Sometimes does not heal at all in the new movie, the screenplay reveals.

Hugh Jackman first played Logan in 2000 film X-Men. He later reprised the role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine.

Patrick Stewart is back to reprise his role as Charles Xavier aka Professor X in the third Wolverine film. Set to hit US theatres on March 3 next year, it also stars Boyd Holbrook, Richard E Grant, Stephen Merchant and Elise Neal.
