Well, as usual numbers don’t mean anything to the local TV channels.
So, if a channel was fond of Imran Khan (no points for guessing which one) it would give a ridiculously high figure for the PTI’s Raiwind rally turnout. And if it was a channel that wasn’t fond of Imran Khan (no points for guessing which one) they gave a low figure.
Regardless of what the figure actually was, even the channels pleasantly predisposed towards the party couldn’t hit the 980,000 one wiseguy from the rally stage suggested.

Channel 44, an affiliate of local Channel 24 and City 42, launched in London the other day. Its launch ceremony had Asif Ali Zardari as a keynote speaker, who gave a well-received speech. On the premises of the house of commons, no less.
It appears that the PPP chairman, through sustained stay in the city, has built a bit of social capital there, among the British political elite.
From the looks of the PPP’s prospects in the Punjab, they might win a seat in the UK before Pakistan’s largest province.
