Former Chief of Army Staff Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf silenced an Indian anchorperson over India’s dual policies regarding the unrest between the two neighbouring countries.

He said India was a country with heightened war hysteria and accused Narendra Modi, his Defence Minister Sushma Swaraj and DGMO of spitting poison against Pakistan.

He said that Sushma Swaraj’s speech at UNGA did not indicate any intention of resolving the issue as she had called Indian-held Kashmir as India’s integral part. When the interviewer justified Swaraj’s speech’s content as the need of the hour owing to present conditions, Musharraf reminded her that it was Indian army that killed more than 80 innocent Kashmiris and, therefore, has itself generated these conditions. There was no contribution from Pakistan’s side whatsoever.

He also equated the idea of engaging in a war as lunacy as he assured that India’s strike will not be left unanswered and Pakistan will strike back befittingly.

He mentioned that both the countries have technologically advanced weapons and war would result in a large-scale devastation. He suggested resolving the issues with harmony.

  1. He probably did. Anchor person did not know that Shusma Swaraj's portfolio changed. Musharaf knew it but an Indian anchor did not!

I too thought Sushma Swaraj is an external affair minister. Manohar Parikar is defence minister!!
