Pak army most battle-hardened army in world: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday said “the Pakistan Army is the most battle-hardened army in the world and it is primarily due to highest standard of physical fitness, professionalism and motivation of our officers and men who face the challenges dauntlessly”.

The COAS said this during his visit to Abbottabad where he witnessed the finals of 4th COAS Young Soldiers Inter-Central PACES (Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System) Championship at FF Centre. The COAS also awarded prizes to the winners.

A total of 406 contestants from 22 regimental centres participated in the event.

Sepoy Sheeraz Khan did 1214 push-ups in 30 minutes to clinch first position in the push-ups category. Sepoy Jamshaid Khan stood first in the chin-ups competition by doing 68 chin-ups. Sepoy Akmal Hussain did 2134 sit-ups to secure first position in the sit-ups contest.

Sepoy Muhammad Asif was declared fit of the fittest in the competition by securing 2474 marks.

The COAS appreciated participants of the competition and trainers for achieving very high standards of physical fitness and professionalism.
