Outrage in Pakistan and India has increased ever since the crossfire at LoC.

Sentiments are at an all-time high and a number of celebrities from both countries have chosen their stance. During such strained relations, all it takes is one tweet to aggravate an entire nation and that’s exactly what Adnan Sami did.

Adnan Sami landed himself in hot water on Friday as he shared a tweet declaring his full support towards the government and Indian Army.

Sharing his views on the recent strike carried out by India along the Line of Control, Sami tweeted: “Big Congratulations to @PMOIndia & our brave Armed forces for a brilliant, successful & mature strategic strike against #terrorism ! #Salute”

Adnan, who became an Indian citizen in January 2015, has been subjected to questions over his citizenship.

The ex-Pakistani singer, who recently gained Indian citizenship last year, tweeted praise for the Indian armed forces and PM Narendra Modi.

His congratulatory tweet naturally received a response from both sides of the border. Some went on to call him a ‘traitor’ and that made Adnan reply to all the ‘haters’ — according to him in another tweet, “Pakistanis r outraged by my earlier tweet. Their outburst clearly means they see Terrorist & Pakistan as the same! #selfgoal #stopterrorism”

However, many were unconvinced by Sami’s explanation. Needless to say… Pakistanis are not happy. Across the border, though, he received lots of love from his Indian fans.
