Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry said on Tuesday that it was India’s misfortune that the country was not taking part in the SAARC conference this year and that the country would be left isolated in the region.
While talking to a private media channel’s program, Aizaz Chaudhry said, “India had not officially informed about not attending the SAARC conference this year.”
He said that it was India’s announcement that it would not take part in the conference was its own misfortune.
Chaudhry said that Pakistan wanted lasting peace in the region and was working for peace in the interests of the people of this region. He further said that Kulbhushan Yadav’s statement was evidence of India’s interference in Pakistan.
“India has adopted a hostile approach,” he said.
Stating that India blamed Pakistan for the Uri attack just a few hours after it had taken place, Aizaz Chaudhry said that allegations increase tensions in the region. Commenting on the issue of Kashmir, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary said that after a few years, the movement for freedom in Kashmir begins.
“This time, the youth of Kashmir have risen and initiated a movement for freedom,” he said. “The whole world is watching India’s growing oppressive tactics in Kashmir. India will be the isolated one in the region,” he said.
He said that India had violated the United Nations charter by interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
