The “Bhai of Bollywood” Salman Khan telephoned Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray and asked him to allow movies with Pakistani actors to be released peacefully.

He said that the upcoming Bollywood films titled Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees, which stars Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan respectively, should not be stopped from release.

It should be noted that hard-line Indian parties have told Pakistan actors to leave the country following an attack on the Indian military base in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Actor Fawad Khan has already returned from India following the threats.

The extremist groups in the country have threatened filmmakers of dire consequences if they will cast any Pakistani actor in their projects.

MNS had earlier said that the group will not let Karan Johar release his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil unless all scenes of Fawad Khan are omitted from the flick. The right wing group has also threatened to stop the release of Shahrukh Khan’s Raees unless all scenes of Mahira Khan, who has played the female lead in the movie, will not be chopped off from the film.
