According to sources, he will discuss the pros and cons of the treaty with the officials. In India, there has been a growing clamour to review the treaty. Only recently, the spokesperson for the external affairs ministry said that “mutual trust and cooperation” was important for such a treaty to work.
“For any such treaty to work, it’s important that there must be mutual cooperation and trust between both the sides. It cannot be a one-sided affair,” he had said when asked if the government would review the treaty.
