And its veil of deception
To divert the international attention from their mass killings in Kashmir for the last so many months, the Indian government immediately planned to counter and distract the issue
Freedom fighters attacked a mountainous Indian army base near the control-line of Azad and Occupied Kashmir on Sunday, 18 September 2016, and killed 17 soldiers in the deadliest attack in Kashmir in more than a decade.
The attack came after more than two months of violent protests in Kashmir. More than 75 people have been killed and thousands more wounded by police fire, according to news reports. The angry, rock-throwing demonstrations erupted after Indian security forces killed a popular freedom fighter in July. Pellet guns used by police have caused more than 500 eye injuries; about 100 people have been permanently blinded.
Tension between India and Pakistan, over the Kashmir issue, stands since 1947. New Delhi easily puts all the blame on Pakistan without looking into the realities of the valley, despite the fact, known to Indians, the Kashmiris want their right of independence.
At the time of the attack, the army base in the heavily forested garrison town of Uri had a large number of troops because soldiers were handing over duties to a new battalion, the Indian army said in a statement. More than 20 soldiers were injured, according to the army.
Freedom fighters barged into the fortified base just before dawn on 18 September 2016 and threw grenades at the tents and temporary barracks where many soldiers were sleeping. The tents caught fire. In the ensuing gun battle, which lasted several hours, all four freedom fighters were killed, officials said. At least 13 of the 17 soldiers killed, died in the fire.
It was the largest number of casualties suffered by the Indian army in a single Kashmir attack in more than two decades. Isn’t it strange that if 75 innocent citizens are killed and 500 lose their eye-sight because of indiscriminate firing of pellet guns used by the Indian army, these so called humanitarian countries headed by the US never utter a single word of worry and when 17 killers are killed, it becomes a source of concern for the global SHO (United States)
“We strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished,” tweeted India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi.
Perhaps he forgot what his coward forces are doing there for the last six months, killing innocent citizens and beating women and children to stop them from protesting and the global humanitarian gods keep their eyes closed.
In Washington, the State Department said, “The United States strongly condemns the terror attack.” How strange? When the freedom fighters of Kashmir kill the killers, they are called militants and condemned by Washington, but when militants are backed by Washington, like in Syria, they become freedom fighters. What a double-faced character Washington has.
“Militants” (Freedom Fighters) probably infiltrated from Pakistan during the night, said SP Vaid, a senior police officer in Kashmir. Without verification, without looking into the reality of the reaction of Indians brutality, they start blaming Pakistan.
What a civilised way of the Indian police force. In a similar attack in January, armed men had scaled the compound wall and entered a front-line air base in the northern state of Punjab, near the border with Pakistan. Seven Indian security officers died in the attack. Indian forces claim this year to have foiled at least half a dozen attempts by freedom fighters to infiltrate.
Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted that he has postponed his trip to Russia and the United States to monitor the situation. Singh also tweeted that there are definite and conclusive indications that the perpetrators of the Uri attack were highly trained, heavily armed and specially equipped.
How can four persons be heavily armed and specially equipped and get killed without causing a single casualty. Do remember, Indians stated that all killed were from fire, not shooting.
It seems an Indian plot, as soon as media reports said that Pakistan’s prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, was likely to raise the issue of Kashmir at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York.
To divert the international attention from their mass killings in Kashmir for the last so many months, the Indian government immediately planned to counter and distract the issue.
Indian political figures voiced outrage. “For one tooth, the complete jaw,” Ram Madhav, general secretary of the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, posted on Facebook. “Days of so-called strategic restraint are over. If terrorism is the instrument of the weak and coward, restraint in the face of repeated terrorist attacks betrays inefficiency and incompetence. India should prove otherwise.” He shamelessly, completely ignored the killings by the Indian army in the valley.
Amid rising calls for tough counteraction by Indians, Ranbir Singh, the director general of military operations, said the army is prepared and “any evil designs of the adversary shall be given a befitting reply by us.” How strange, without any embarrassment or shame over their killing the innocent citizens of Kashmir, they start talking about terrorism. India is the biggest terrorist in the region, every day killing innocent and poor citizens of Kashmir, Assam, Tamil-Nado, Bihar, Bengal and also the Hindus of lower-caste.
The officer said four grenade launchers, four AK-47 rifles and a large number of grenades were recovered from the four dead freedom fighters. It looks like a joke or ill prepared statement, Indians designed this attack just before the UN General Assembly meeting to gain sympathy and to divert the attention of their killings. But the days are over when the government of India could, by force, pressurise innocent Kashmiri citizens and deprive them from their basic rights.
India and Pakistan, nuclear-armed foes, both claim Kashmir. Despite knowing the reality, the Indian observers don’t hesitate from making phony and frivolous statements, trying to accuse Pakistan of supporting the freedom fighters of Kashmir movement whom India is terrorising since decades.
Now, India would not be able to continue its terrorism by blaming other countries. The whole world knows that India is a terrorist country, suppressing the basic rights of Kashmiris, Sikhs, Tamils, Assam and also of the Hindus of the lower caste.
India, with very high pace, is heading towards disintegration, because of the rulers’ attitude and stemming the basic rights of people.
