As many as 16 suspects were taken into custody by the police as the crackdown against criminal elements continues in different parts of Karachi.
According to details, during an operation in Pirabad area, police apprehended an extortionist, Muhammad Akbar.
Police also carried out an operation in Maripur area and arrested a gang war accused named as Shahjahan alias Bhoora.
At least 10 suspects were taken into custody when police carried out a house-to-house search in Shah Faisal Nathan Goth area. Police shifted the arrested persons to some undisclosed location for further investigation.
Police also arrested an accused and his accomplices in injured condition after an encounter in Gulberg area.
