Accused in Polyclinic recruitment case handed over to FIA on 3-day remand

Islamabad District Court on Saturday handed over the admin officer of Polyclinic Hospital on a three-day physical remand to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in illegal recruitment case.

The crime cell of FIA produced Muhammad Arshad, admin officer of Polyclinic Hospital before the duty judge, Judicial Magistrate Rasool Buksh Mirjet.

FIA inspector Khalid Salahuddin told the court that the accused had recruited some 34 persons in different categories illegally while the co-accused Deputy Director Iftikhar Naro is allegedly involved in corruption in purchasing the oxygen gas cylinder and is now in jail.

Iftikhar Naro signed on the appointment letters of the employees prepared by admin officer Muhammad Arshad.

The accused recorded his statement in the court, saying, “I have signed on the appointment letters while obeying the orders of officials of Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division,” adding that approximately 67 youths have started functioning in the Polyclinic.

The FIA inspector prayed the court to grant the physical remand of accused for the apprehension of CADD Ministry’s officials and other accused.
