Sindh Assembly passes bill reinstating workers sacked during Nawaz, Musharraf era

Sindh Assembly Thursday passed the bill reinstating the workers sacked during Nawaz Sharif and Pervez Musharraf governments despite the opposition of the opposition bench.

The bill for the restoration of workers sacked between 1997 to 2008 was presented by the Sindh government. Opposition fiercely opposed the bill.

PML-F woman legislator said that the bill is aimed to accord protection to relatives while Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah defended the bill saying that dictators had sacked the workers on a political basis.

Talking to media outside the assembly, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said that first, fake jobs are being sold and on top of that they are protected through legislation.
