The lawmakers in Punjab Assembly on Friday hailed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in which he presented the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of Kashmiris.

“Now it is high time for the international community to take stock of the ongoing Indian aggression against innocent Kashmiris and pressurise India to stop nasty acts,” they added.

The members of provincial assembly, including Muhammad Yasin Sohal, Majid Zahoor, Bao Akhtar Ali, Ghazali Saleem Butt, Mian Muhammad Naseer, Azma Bukhari and Hina Pervaiz Butt, lauded the prime minister’s bold stance emphasising on the UN resolutions on Kashmir issue.

They said the prime minister unmasked the face of secular India and its state terrorism in the occupied Kashmir before the world leaders.

“The people of Pakistan and Kashmiris in the occupied valley were happy on strongly pleading the case of Kashmir,” they added.

They said Pakistan wanted to have good relations with all its neighbouring countries, including India. Peace would not be possible in the region without resolving the Kashmir issue, they added.

They urged the UN to put pressure on India to stop atrocities in the occupied Kashmir and to come on the negotiating table for amicable solution of the decade-long dispute according to the wishes of Kashmiris.

“Fair and just plebiscite is the right of Kashmiri people and they should be given their right,” they said.
