Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Thursday formed a full bench to hear the petitions seeking to stop the march towards Raiwind, announced by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan.
The full bench, comprising Justice Anwarul Haq, Justice Qasim Khan and Justice Shahid Kareem, will begin hearing the petitions next week.
The petitions were filed by a number of people, including advocate AK Dogar. The petitioners argued that Imran Khan was making inflammatory speeches due to which there was a fear of riots during the march. The petitions pleaded the court to stop Imran Khan from marching towards Raiwind.
Justice Shahid Waheed had recommended the LHC chief justice to form a full bench to hear the petitions.
