It is encouraging that the Sindh government has instructed for the improvement of the falling quality of education within the province across the board. In its follow-up to the programme, the Sindh Education and Skill Department has launched a campaign for bio-metric verification of all teaching and non-teaching workers within the province, followed unexpectedly visits by observation groups.
It created a decent result because the massive question of teachers’ absence was answered. Now, the official observation assistants and district education officers will visit colleges to make sure of teachers’ attendance. All such steps are welcome measures.
However, a giant question remains: why don’t individuals get their kids enrolled in government colleges and schools remains? It seems individuals don’t trust that government colleges would offer quality education. I hope that the chief minister and his team can explore the matter.
