PM Mian Nawaz Sharif has spoken about the need of storing water which would incidentally generate cheap energy in addition to water for irrigation. It is only when Chairman WAPDA has resigned due to lack of support for construction a water reservoir like KBD that has been simmering since past 40 years. It is good that the PM has albeit belatedly realised the benefit of water reservoir after much goading by the press. It is never too late to think of water storage but to lose an ardent supporter of KBD does not click with the desire of PM to build water storages at the same time that a supporter of KBD has been made to retire. If it is a change of heart for PM or a mere gimmick to satisfy people that PM had not have love lost for water reservoirs which are a destiny of Pakistan for its survival.
