Indian journalist urges Bollywood to ban Fawad Khan

After the military attack in Indian-held Kashmir, an Indian journalist has urged Bollywood to ban Fawad Khan.

Soumyadipta Banerjee took to Twitter on Tuesday calling for the film industry to boycott the Pakistani actor, “Ban Pakistani artists the same way they have banned you. This is not the time to promote culture,” he said while calling for Bollywood to unite against Pakistan.

“It’s time for Bollywood to stand with the jawans of this country and ban Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan. Please respond to #UriAttack,” he further added.

However, Banerjee did not stop there. The journalist has also written an open letter titled “Dear Fawad Khan. It’s time. Go back to Pakistan” to the Kapoor & Sons star asking him to “go back to Pakistan.”

He further suggested that fellow Pakistani artists such as Adnan Sami, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Mahira Khan should also be banned from working in their country.

While a few stood by Soumyadipta’s distasteful tweets, others didn’t shy away from giving him a backlash as they couldn’t make a sense out of it.

But, at the end of the day, Soumyadipta had to back out. Here we are hoping there is still some good left between the two countries.
