Petroleum prices to slashed by Rs 4/litre in October

Prices of petroleum products are likely to be reduced starting from October following a reduction in international prices, according to Petroleum Ministry officials on Tuesday.

According to the officials, a deduction of nearly Rs 4 per litre is expected on different petroleum products.

If the ministry goes ahead with the recommendation, petrol price would be reduced by Rs 3.30 per litre, that of high-speed diesel by Rs 3.80 per litre and that of light diesel Rs 2.10 per litre.

The price of kerosene oil will be reduced by Rs 2.50 per litre and high octane by Rs 4 per litre.
