The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers took out a rally against rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) expected to march towards Raiwind and threatened to pelt eggs and tomatoes at the marchers.
Speaking at a rally, president of the PML-N youth wing Hamza said, “We will welcome PTI workers with eggs and tomatoes when they march to Raiwind.”
Earlier, PML-N workers had established a forced armed with sticks to welcome PTI workers at Raiwind.
Tensions between the two parties have mounted in recent days as the PTI announced it will march to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s residence to protest his alleged offshore accounts named in the Panama Papers.
The prime minister is being pressured by the opposition to present himself for accountability over the Panama Papers scandal.
