LHC reserves verdict over plea against Maalik ban

The political-thriller film ‘Maalik’ has been in the spotlight for its ban since its release.

According to recent reports, Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday reserved its verdict on the plea against the ban on the movie.

According to details, the verdict will be announced on September 21.

Earlier, Sindh High Court (SHC) on September 6 declared federal government’s ban on the film illegal and cleared it to be screened again.

Additional Attorney General stated that they would have no grievances if objectionable scenes are omitted from the film.

Maalik, which had already been playing in cinemas, was declared ‘uncertified for the whole of Pakistan’ by the ministry of information in May.

Previous bans on films have come from provincial censorship boards while the creators are totally clueless as why the federal government has imposed the ban.
