In an apparent reference to his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday called out India to stop human rights violation in Kashmir and praised Pakistan’s progress in terms of political and economic stability

Speaking to the Pakistani community in New York, PM Nawaz said that the youth of Kashmir had breathed life into the Kashmiris’ freedom movement and self-determination.

He urged India to pay heed to the voice of Kashmiris and respect their wishes. He said that the government will continue to support the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination on every level and platform.

Nawaz also lauded Pakistan’s economic progress and said that Pakistan had performed well ever since he took the reins of the country. He hailed the armed forces for rendering invaluable sacrifices against terrorists and said that the world was viewing Pakistan as politically stable and with regard to economy, as a strong country.

Nawaz Sharif also spoke about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and termed it as a game changer for the country. He said that the whole region would benefit from the economic corridor that would be built from China to Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif said that the government had launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the National Action Plan to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif will hold meetings with key leaders on Monday and also address the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday.

    • We agree, let the original natives kicked by pakistan and its cohorts return, then we shall see. Finally hand over POK to India as per UN resolutions.

    • The people who are getting killed in Kashmir are either terrorists or supporter of terrorists like Burhan Wani. Let them get killed. Do not worry about Kashmir. Start thinking about Sindh and Baluchistan. Sindh and Punjab belong to India and we will take it, either now or before 2020.
