Ali Haider Gillani says was kidnapped by al Qaeda

Ali Haider Gillani, son of former Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said that he was kidnapped by the terrorist group al Qaeda.

Adressing a press conference in Multan on Sunday, Gillani said that he has informed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif that he was abducted by al Qaeda operatives.

He added that the whole nation should work together to defeat terrorism.

Gillani stated that there are some facts, regarding his kidnappings, which he will mention in his book. He added that his book will be released in 2017.

Ali Haider Gillani was kidnapped during an election campaign rally on May 9, 2013.

The former prime minister’s son was rescued by Afghan and US forces from Taliban in a joint raid from the Ghazni province of Afghanistan on May 10.
