CM reviews pace of ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Paani’ programme

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting to review progress on ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme’ on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said clean drinking water is essential for human health. He said potable water is the right of every citizen and that Punjab government will uphold this right through the clean water project, and added that billions of rupees have been allocated for this purpose.

He said that like other projects, transparency, high quality and speed will be the hallmark of ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme’ and he will personally monitor its implementation. Shehbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has set up separate companies for the speedy implementation of the programme in southern and northern Punjab. He said that this decision will be helpful in speedy execution of the programme as it will promote a spirit of competition.

Additional Chief Secretary, CEO Urban Unit, Secretary Housing and concerned officials attended the meeting whereas Punjab Saaf Pani Company South Punjab Chairman Kashif Padhiyar participated through video link.
