Children living with detained women in jail ordered to be shifted to SOS village

District and Sessions’ Judge Nazir Ahmad Gajana has ordered to send the children kept in jails with their detained mothers to SOS village.

These children will be able to meet their mothers in a week and their mothers will be brought from jails in connection with their meeting with the children.

It came to knowledge of the judge during the visit to jails that children are also kept with the mothers who are detained in jail in connection with cases and that no one is there to look after them.

Keeping in view the fact that these children should be kept away from jail and education facilities be provided to them so that they could come out from the company of criminals and live in the society like good citizens, the judge directed jail superintendent that the children who can go to school be immediately shifted to SOS village where they could get education.

Following the judge’s orders, four children were shifted to SOS Feerozepur Road.
