The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police registered total 1,920 criminal cases in three months (March to May 2016) of which 375 were registered for violating Dishonour of Cheque Law.
Of the total, 532 are under investigation, 79 cancelled and 911 were challaned during the period.
The crime-wise details of the cases during the period showed on Thursday that capital police registered 30 cases of murder, of which 11 are under investigation and 12 challaned, one case of kidnapping for ransom was registered and challaned, 13 cases of dacoity were registered, of which three are under investigation and three were challaned.
Police registered 31 cases of attempted murder, out of which three were cancelled, eight under investigation and 13 were challaned, 51 cases of robbery were registered, of which 38 are under investigation, two cancelled and 12 challaned.
The data said 52 cases of theft were registered during the period, out of which 23 are under investigation, two cancelled and 12 challaned and 32 cases of robbery with arms were registered, of which 9 are under investigation, one cancelled and 14 challaned.
Similarly, capital police registered 25 cases of kidnapping, of which 14 are under investigation, five cases cancelled and two were challaned, two cases of un-natural offence were registered, of which one cancelled and one challaned and 15 cases of accident were registered, of which three are under investigation and 9 were challaned.
Moreover, the data said 82 cases of hurt were registered with Islamabad police, of which 14 are under investigation, five cancelled and 46 were challaned, 133 cases of motor car/cycle theft were registered, of which 73 are under investigation, two were cancelled, and 17 were challaned while 12 cases of recovery were registered, of which one case is under investigation, and ten were challaned.
Police also registered 241 cases of illegal arms during the period, out of which and 238 were challaned, 130 cases of narcotics were registered, of which two are under investigation, one cancelled and 31 were challaned, 22 cases of obstruction in official duty were registered, of which 18 were challaned and 17 cases of violence against women were registered, of which three are under investigation, one was cancelled, and seven were challaned.
The data said 29 cases of illegal occupation were registered, of which six are under investigation, four were cancelled and 13 were challaned, 16 cases of illegal confinement were registered, of which two are under investigation, three were cancelled and six were challaned while two cases of gambling were registered and were challaned.
Furthermore, 37 cases of electricity theft were registered, out of which five are under investigation, and 11 were challaned while three cases were registered under Local and Special Law and were challaned.
Police also registered 30 cases of miscellaneous nature during three months, out of which seven are under investigation, one was cancelled and 17 were challaned while five cases of beggary were also registered during the period.
