Polling for By-Election of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) 6 Hunza Nagar III is underway.
Polls at 58 polling stations are being held after the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) candidate from this constituency was made governor. His seat was left vacant in 2015.
Polling in this area has been postponed thrice.
Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan, the previous winner of this seat has nominated his son Shah Saleem Khan for the by-elections.
Polling began at 9am and will continue until 5pm today.
There are 74000 people living in the constituency.
There is the close competition between independent candidate Col (Retd) Obaidullah Baig and the PML-N candidate. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz have also fielded their candidates.
The election commission has set up sixty-four polling stations, where more than thirty-six thousand voters are expected to exercise the right of vote.
