Punjab CM committed to resolve farmer’s problems, enhancing agri exports

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is committed for the prosperity of farmers through his slogan “Kissan Khushal-Punjab khushal”.

In a statement issued on Thursday, spokesman of Punjab Agriculture Department said that under the instructions of chief minister, the department organised balloting ceremonies to provide modern agricultural equipment and to promote agricultural mechanisation in province’s 2,486 rural union councils with subsidy of Rs 1166,518,000 under a two-year programme. He said that rain fed and irrigated areas of Punjab held ceremonies draw.

The spokesman of Agriculture Department said that lots of events at the level of Assistant Commissioners Council, DSPs concerned, District Agricultural Extension Deputy Officers, Officers of Water Management held in the presence of local electronic, print media and public representatives.

The lists have been displayed immediately after balloting. The successful farmers and representatives of firms have been made responsible to provide agricultural services like disc harrow, seed drill, sugarcane rajar, sugar cane cutters, halukoon nozzle and crop seed drill for next five years in the field.

He said that mechanisation is required to promote the cultivation and increasing productivity through better use of the growing tractors, trained manpower and to meet the nutritional needs of the population, agricultural equipment and machinery is essential.
