Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawja Salman Rafiq on Thursday cancelled Eid holidays of dengue officials including doctors, nursing staff and members of surveillance teams as cases of dengue patients are increasing in the city.
Chairing a meeting to review anti-dengue arrangements, he said Punjab chief minister has sent him to Rawalpindi to identify the cause of the increasing number of dengue patients. He said the provincial government has provided latest equipments to ensure proper treatment of the dengue patients.
He directed the authorities that surveillance activities or tracing of larva and its eradication be expedited besides focusing on hotspots where dengue cases are being reported and pay full attention to areas where larva has been detected during current checking.
Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer(DCO)Talat Mehmood Gondal briefed the meeting that around 50 patients have been brought to Allied Hospital including 6 from Azad Kashmir, 4 from Haripur ,5 from Islamabad and others from the adjoining areas of Rawalpindi while 34 were discharged after recovery.
