Senegal President Macky Sall arrives in Islamabad on two-day visit

President of Senegal Macky Sall arrived in Islamabad on Monday on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif welcomed the distinguished guest at the airbase. Twenty-one gun salute boomed as the visiting dignitary aligned from the plane.

The Senegalese president is accompanying a 34-member delegation.

During the visit, the Senegal president will hold talks with Nawaz Sharif followed by delegation level talks. Bilateral relations, regional situation and international issues will be discussed during talks.

The Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Defence, Chairman Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Chairman Board of Investment will also call on the President of Senegal.

Pakistan and Senegal enjoy close and cordial relations which are based on a common faith and identity of views on regional and global issues. During the visit, both sides will be exploring the possibilities of further strengthening existing bilateral ties in various fields of mutual interest. There will be renewed focus on elevating economic and trade relations and defence cooperation between the two countries.
