BIEK announces HSSC Part-II result

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday declared results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), Part-II, Annual Examinataions-2016 of science (pre-medical), home economics and medical technology.

According to result, 79 public and private colleges delivered result less than 20 per cent while around 30 per cent affiliated colleges produced result less than 30 per cent and above or equal to 20 per cent.

The gazette further shows that 35 colleges had result less than 50 per cent and above or equal to 30 per cent whereas 92 educational institutions gives 50 per cent or above result.

The BIEK controller of examinations, Muhammad Imran Khan Chishti, mentioned that 57 unfair means cases were reported during or after examinations.

Pre-medical

The theory papers of pre-medical exams were held from April 28 till May 18 whereas practical exams and viva concluded on June 25. According to the gazette issued, 21,389 candidates were registered for the papers of which 21,106 students appeared and 11, 139 candidates cleared all papers. The overall pass percentage was 52.78.

It shows that 1,349 students clinched A+ grade, 3,089 candidates bagged A grade, 3,290 students received B grade, 2,500 candidates had C grade, 858 students passed exams with D grade while 53 candidates managed to clear papers with E grade.

As per gazette, 4,268 male students were registered of which 4,166 candidates appeared and 1,776 students cleared all papers. The passing percentage was 42.63. As many as 159 candidates received A+ grade, 387 students had A grade, 445 candidates cleared papers with B grade, 437 students managed to get C grade, 301 candidates were declared pass in D grade while 47 students obtained E grade.

On the other hand, 17,121 female candidates were registered and 16,940 students appeared in the papers of which 9,363 candidates cleared their papers. The pass percentage was 55.27 per cent.

Of the female candidates, 1,190 students clinched A+ grade, 2,702 received A grade, 2,845 students cleared papers with B grade, 2,063 candidates had C grade, 557 students declared pass with D grade whereas six candidates received E grade.

Home Economics

As per gazette, 334 candidates were registered in home economics of which 328 students appeared and 152 candidates cleared all papers. The overall pass percentage was 46.34 per cent. Only four students bagged A+ grade, 25 candidates received A grade, 59 students got B grade, 47 candidates managed to clear papers with C grade and 17 students had D grade.

Medical Technology

Only three candidates were registered in Medical Technology and all of them cleared their annual exams. The overall pass percentage was 100 per cent. Among three students, two candidates had B grade while one student passed with C grade.
