4.5 magnitude earthquake hits Swat, adjoining areas

An earthquake jolted Swat and adjoining areas early Monday morning.

The quake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale with a focal depth of 9 kilometres, hit many areas, including Battagram and Muzaffarabad among others, United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

Following tremors, many evacuated their homes and buildings amid fears of further shocks. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported thus far.

Strong tremors were felt across Lahore and adjoining areas last month. The quake hit many areas, including Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Sheikhpura, among others.

The quake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale with a focal depth of 10 kilometres according to the MET Department.
