Water pipeline bursts due to power breakdown in Dhabeji

Power breakdown in Dhabeji pumping station Saturday in Karachi caused a 72-inch diameter water pipeline to burst.

The pipeline ruptured due to back pressure caused by an electricity outage Friday night. Hundreds of thousand gallons water inundated main National Highway.

Karachi Sewage and Water Board spokesman said that teams have been sent to the site, however, the repairing work would take two to three days.

On the other hand, various areas including Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony and Mahmoodabad are facing 58 MGD water scarcity.
