Four officials of Indian Home Ministry were removed from their post on Friday for reissuing Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) license to Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation.

On the basis of FCRA license, any non-government organisation can receive foreign funds or charity.

According to Indian authorities, no case is registered against Zakir Naik, however; the investigation is underway against Islamic Research Foundation.

“Although there is no case against Naik, the FCRA license was renewed when the probe was on, therefore the officers were removed,” a senior official told NDTV. The officials had verified the paperwork and the license were renewed in a routine manner, the officer said.

The preacher is under the scanner after the Dhaka café attack in July which claimed the lives of at least 20 hostages.

Bangladesh has allegedly declared that two of the suspected terrorists involved in the attack were influenced by Dr Zakir Naik’s speeches.

Dr Zakir while rejecting the allegations has said that his statements and speeches have been doctored.

An organised movement is being run in India to ban Zakir Naik.

  1. This idiot is not an Islamic scholar, he is a mouth piece for Saudi Arabia spreading their vile Wahabi rubbish!

  2. He is no Wahabi. He is a Muslim. You are attacking him for what reason exactly? Are you offended by his teachings?
