Rainfall expected in major cities for next 12 hours

The Pakistan Meteorological Department Wednesday has predicted rain thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls accompanied by gusty winds at scattered places of upper Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Eastern Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir for the next 12 hours.

However, the hot and humid weather will persist in other parts of the country including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The maximum temperature in the twin cities will be 34°C and minimum will be 23°C whereas rain is likely to occur in the evening.

At least 73mm rain was recorded in Mandi Bahauddin whereas highest temperature was observed in Turbat as 43°C on Tuesday.

According to the synoptic situation, a fresh westerly wave is also likely to enter upper parts of the country tonight and likely to affect upper and central parts of the country during next two days.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Wednesday morning:

Islamabad 21°C, Lahore 26°C, Karachi 27°C, Peshawar 24°C, Quetta and Gilgit 20°C, Murree 16°C and Muzaffarabad 19°C.
