The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected the petition filed to declare National Assembly (NA) Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq unqualified over contempt of court.
The petition was filed by a professor named Waheed who had argued that the NA speaker threatened to contempt the ECP on media, adding that over doing contempt of national institution, the speaker be declared unqualified.
The CEC rejected the petition over not providing concrete evidences for the petition and said that there are many talks on media and notice cannot be taken on everything.
