President Mamnoon Hussain underlined the need to lay greater emphasis on promoting research culture in the universities to promote creativity and innovation to take the country forward and achieve economic prosperity.
The president said this while talking to Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.
The president said that the government is committed to promote higher education in the country. He said education cannot complete without character building of the younger generation and asked the HEC chairman to further improve the standard of education across the country.
The president hoped that the efforts of HEC will generate skillful human resource that will play a crucial role in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The HEC chairman briefed the president about matters relating to HEC and future programmes of his organisation.
This is the best job done by President to promote higher education in the country. Really taken good step.
