No dengue patient in jails: IG prisons

IG Prisons Mian Farooq Nazir has said that not a single case of dengue patient had been reported in any jail of Punjab during the last four years due to constant anti-mosquito drives.

Talking to the news agency on Sunday, he said anti-dengue days had been observed in all jails of the province and all regional offices of the department took special measures against it.

He said all officers and employees of jails, as well as prisoners, took an active part in efforts to eliminate mosquitoes and its larvae.

The experts were invited to create awareness among prisoners about dengue and its preventive measures, he said, and added this year efforts were also being made to keep the environment free of dengue in jails.
