University of Health Sciences Registrar Dr Asad on Sunday said students of south Punjab were getting more admissions in medical and dental colleges due to their hard work as compared to other areas of the province.
“A record of the UHS indicates that students of south Punjab are paying immense focus on their education and a ratio of their admissions to medical and dental colleges is increasing,” he added.
Talking to the news agency, Dr Asad said there was no change in the policy of the Pakistan Medical and Dental College (PMDC) for the admission criteria to medical colleges.
The students would be given admission on pure merit, he ensured.
According to the merit criteria, there are 50 per cent marks of entrance test, 40 per cent marks of FSc and 10 per cent marks of matriculation.
Last year, over 6,000 students had appeared in Multan centre while the number of students increased to 8,097 this year. Similarly, new centres, including DG Khan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan were also set up due to an increasing number of students from south Punjab.
