The situation at Pakistan’s Chaman border in Balochistan with Afghanistan Monday continued to remain tense as the closure of the crossing entered into its 12th day.

Pakistan Rangers had closed Bab-e-Dosti after Afghan nationals pelted stones on the Pakistani side of the border. They also chanted anti-Pakistan slogans.

The Afghan citizens across the border had also disrespected the Pakistani flag.

Pakistan has demanded an Afghan apology over the incident with the assurance that such events will not take place in the future. Pakistani authorities have also demanded their Afghan counterparts to take action against those involved in the incident.

Afghanistan has not given any response to Pakistan over the matter.

Three flag meetings have taken place on the request of Afghan authorities after the incident but the two sides could not reach to any decision.

Economic and trade activity is also severely affected due to the closure of the border crossing. Long queues of trucks and NATO supplies carrying trailers can be witnessed in the area.
