AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has presented a six-point proposal to resolve the longstanding Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions in Islamabad on Sunday.
The proposal includes evolving unity among all political forces in AJK and enhancing contacts with representative leadership in Indian-held Kashmir.
The proposal stresses highlighting the Kashmir issue through Kashmiris and Pakistanis settled in North American, European and Gulf States.
It also calls for taking up with the US Administration, Congress and EU Parliament the issue of human rights violations by Indian forces.
Masood Khan said the doors of the United Nations, Human Rights Council and other international institutions concerned should be constantly knocked for the implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir. The United Nation should be urged to appoint special representative for monitoring the situation in occupied Kashmir, he added.
The president said that efforts would also be made to demand India to resume dialogue with Pakistan for result-oriented talks on Kashmir. The platform of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will also be used in this regard, he added.
Khan said political and civil society of India would be appealed to prevail upon their government to stop atrocities and human rights violations in the occupied territory.
The president also appealed to all political forces of AJK, media, civil and learned segments of society to cooperate for implementation of his proposal.
