The law enforcement agencies recovered a hand grenade in the provincial capital Peshawar which was later defused by bomb disposal squad (BDS) on Saturday.
A Russian-made hand grenade that was seen at Peshawar’s Mufti Mahmood Flyover was neutralised by the security personnel.
The police were informed about the presence of the bomb after which it rushed the scene and BDS was called in.
They also directed the shopkeepers around the bridge to close their markets and leave the area.
Sources told that no precautionary measures were taken during the action whereas a search operation was launched in adjoining areas to inspect the security arrangements.
Provincial assembly, Peshawar High Court and other important buildings are located along the flyover.
